How We Help Our Mentor-Protégé Program (M-PP) Partners
The HP Enterprise Services U.S. Public Sector M-PP provides its Protégé partners with many types of developmental assistance. This assistance may include:
- General business management, organizational management, financial management, personnel management, marketing, business development, business planning, strategic planning, engineering, quality assurance, product inventory, manufacturing, proposal writing, contract/subcontract management, human resources, process improvement, and technical and professional development training.
- Individual and company technical certifications, such as ISO 9001 and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Other types of assistance, such as progress payments, advance payments, loans, and assistance provided by other entities.
How We Select Our Protégé Partners
The various Government agencies participating in the M-PP have different criteria for the selection of Protégés, based on size, revenue, years in business, or business case. Generally, HP Enterprise Services applies the agency-specific criteria and searches for businesses who need assistance in the areas where HP is considered an industry leader. We also look for potential Protégés who are a "good fit" for HP and our M-PP customer. The "good fit" justification is critical in determining the return on investment to the customer. There must be an advantage in doing business with the HP M-PP partner.
Specific criteria include:
- Company meets the requirements of the Agency or military service sponsoring the relationship.
- Company understands the M-PP, its requirements, and its senior leadership supports the effort.
- Meet the HP Enterprise Services requirements of:
- Core capabilities and corporate philosophy are similar or complementary to those of HP.
- Company is currently working with HP, or has past performance with HP or EDS.
- Company will work with HP Enterprise Services to have a reciprocally beneficial M-P relationship.
